More Copenhageners are taking advantage of boarding their bicycles on trains.
It’s free!
And there are now dedicated cycle cars with flexible parking spaces. No more tight squeezes with the regular commuters.

Jopo bicycles are a Scandinavian icon. Engineered in Finland about 50 years ago, these bikes were designed for anyone to use, “no matter what age, size, sex or financial status.”
In recent times, jopoism moved to it’s 3rd generation, 3-geared, jopo3 model.
As part of an interactive campaign, people in Copenhagen were encouraged to seek out hidden jopo bikes by finding clues and combinations to the bicycles’ locks on jopo’s facebook page.
Kind of like hide ‘n seek, but the finders get to keep the jopo bicycles for free!
With summer just round the corner, there will be a few happy jopo’ers in Copenhagen.

With cycling becoming more popular in Copenhagen, there’s growing demand for widening bicycle lanes to accommodate three bikes at a time (currently the lanes allow for two).

The Danish are cool. Why? Because they love their bicycles; riding them even in the middle of winter. They commute to and from work and go to parties on their bikes, no matter what the weather.
And they do it in style. Just like these two women in Søtorvet, Copenhagen.

A woman gets pulled over and cited for wearing a skirt while bicycling in SoHo, New York. Blamed for being a distraction for drivers and told to go home and put pants on.
This causes a tweet by the New Amsterdam Bike Show, and a protest in the Cycle Chic from Copenhagen blog.

With the price of oil creeping up, we might have to make out like the peeps in Copenhagen. Ride bikes. Even in snow storms.

Riding through the snow in Copenhagen. A commuter making her way across the Dronning Louises Bridge on her bike.
No matter what, many people in Copenhagen still use their bicycles to get around through the winter months.

The photo that launched a million bicycles.
It’s the third anniversary of Copenhagen Cycle Chic. This spontaneous shot, taken by Mikael Colville-Andersen, was the beginning of his Copenhagen cycling blog three years ago. Since then, many similar blogs have been created and cities have embraced the idea of making their streets cycling friendly.
